Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why should I buy my rain gutters from Seamless Rain Gutters, Inc.?

Seamless Rain Gutters has been serving San Diego for over 48 years. We take great pride in our experienced courteous employees providing you with the most honest, reliable, and prompt rain gutter service in San Diego County.

2. Why do I need rain gutters?

From the moment the first rain falls damage to your home starts occurring. Mud splatters and stains your stucco. Roof water begins to compact the soil causing low areas where water collects. Doors begin to warp from the excessive water. Cement slowly starts to erode under the constant hammering of the roof water. Moisture builds up around the house and mildew forms. Rain Gutters are a simple and inexpensive way of protecting your home and landscaping investment. Unfortunately, most homeowners are unaware of the need for properly installed Rain Gutter until the damage has already begun.

3. If I needed Rain Gutters wouldn't my builder have supplied them?

No, in the southern California area, builders are not required to install Rain Gutters. Some conscientious builders do include a complete Rain Gutter system, some supply only a partial system, but most will not include Rain Gutters.

4. What is meant by the term “seamless”?

Your gutters are produced in one continuous length, on the job, to any length needed to fit your home’s specifications.

5. I have some gutters now, how can I tell if I need additional Gutters?

Give your building a simple spot check. Walk around the outside of your home. Look for things like:

Soil splattered on the stucco
b. Paint that is splitting and peeling near the base of the house or the bottom of doors.
c. Grooves worn into concrete sidewalks or driveways or small trenches in soil or landscaping.
d. Moss or mildew growing on walls

6. Do Rain Gutters need a lot of maintenance?

Seamless Aluminum Rain Gutters require very little maintenance. Unlike steel they don’t require constant painting to keep them looking new. By keeping them clean, free of leaves, and debris Seamless Rain Gutter systems require very little attention.

7. But Rain Gutters are ugly! Won’t they detract from my home?

When Rain Gutters are professionally installed, they are hardly noticeable. Experienced professionals can design a system using color and placement to virtually hide the gutters and downspouts. Notice the rain gutters on your neighbor’s homes. Chances are if they had them installed by a professional, you never even knew they were there!

8. What are the advantages of the various metals offered for your Gutter Systems?

Aluminum is one of the least expensive products available and does not rust. Aluminum gutters are manufactured on the job to the precise measurements of your home and are pre-finished in 30 colors. They have a 100-year warranty against chipping, cracking and peeling of the factory finish.

Galvanized Steel

Steel gutters are more rigid than aluminum and have a limited color selection.

Copper is considered the premium product. Its superior quality makes it low maintenance and does not require paint. Copper will not rust and is well suited for nautical environments. Copper is the most durable and longest lasting material currently available for gutters.

9. What is the best kind of rain gutter?

Aluminum is, by far, the most commonly used material for gutters. Aluminum is inexpensive, relatively maintenance free*, lightweight and rust free. They are available in various colors. Although there are alternatives to aluminum, its low cost and few drawbacks make it the most popular choice.
If you are looking for elegance and durability, copper may be what you are looking for. Copper carries certain panache and can last for hundreds of years.

*We recommend cleaning out any debris twice a year.
